In 2010-2011 SRC in cooperation with the Russian leading enterprises in space and rocket industry participated in the development of a middle-class space-rocket complex of increased lift capacity for the new Russian Vostochny cosmodrome.
The complex is designed to launch piloted and cargo transport spaceships of new generation and orbital modules into low NEOs, automated spacecraft into low, middle and high (with boosters) circular and elliptic orbits, including planetary departure trajectories. Modern designs and technologies are used to the maximum in the Rus-M LV.
SRC is a leading developer of the LV first stage. The Rus-M first stage is an inseparable-in-flight cluster of autonomous units. Each unit has the RD180V engine developed by NPO Energomash. The developed first-stage units are planned to be used at further creation of heavy-class (payloads of no less than 50 t to be injected into a parking orbit) and superheavy-class (payloads of no less than 100 t to be injected into a parking orbit) LVs.
SRC has developed and successfully defended draft and technical designs of the Rus-M first stage.
